Een nieuw EU-monitoringschema om nauwkeurigere gegevens te verstrekken over niet-CO2-emissies wordt in twijfel getrokken. In plaats van het monitoren van niet-CO2 op alle vluchten die Europa verlaten, worden alleen vluchten binnen de Europese Economische Ruimte (EER) in aanmerking genomen. Bedrijven en het maatschappelijk middenveld roepen de Europese Commissie op om een volledige geografische reikwijdte voor het schema te garanderen, om nauwkeurig de volledige impact van vluchten te kunnen registreren ter ondersteuning van inspanningen om reisemissies te verminderen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Veel grote bedrijven willen hun steentje bijdragen aan het beperken van de gevolgen van klimaatverandering. Ze rapporteren en verminderen daarom de totale uitstoot en de uitstoot die verband houdt met zakenreizen, inclusief stralingsforcering.<\/span><\/p>\n

Om hen te helpen dit doel te bereiken, hebben ze de Europese Commissie nodig om ervoor te zorgen <\/span>een gelijk speelveld, met geharmoniseerde normen en methodologie\u00ebn voor zakenreizen, om bij te dragen aan het bevorderen van koolstofvrij reizen in Europa.<\/span> Het terugdringen van de uitstoot van zakenreizen kan niet zonder het verbeteren van de klimaatboekhoudnormen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Een van de barri\u00e8res waar bedrijven mee te maken krijgen <\/span>is de moeilijkheid om emissies en klimaateffecten volledig in kaart te brengen vanwege de veelheid aan huidige methodologie\u00ebn<\/span>. Ze willen hun reisemissies nauwkeuriger kunnen rapporteren, maar betere richtlijnen ontbreken. Het Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)-kader van het EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) zou bedrijven in staat moeten stellen om gemakkelijker verantwoording af te leggen over de volledige klimaatimpact van reizen, door uitgebreide rapportagenormen op te nemen voor niet-CO2-effecten van luchtvaart. De EU zou een volledige geografische reikwijdte moeten garanderen voor de rapportage van niet-CO2-emissies van alle vluchten die de EU binnenkomen en verlaten, om aan te sluiten bij het wereldwijde karakter van zakenreizen en rapportage over duurzaamheid van bedrijven.<\/span><\/p>\n

Daarom roepen de ondertekenaars van de brief de Europese Commissie op om te zorgen voor een volledige geografische reikwijdte van de regeling, zodat de volledige impact van vluchten nauwkeurig in kaart wordt gebracht en de inspanningen om de reisemissies te verminderen, worden ondersteund.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
