Entre estas contam-se a AstraZeneca, a Lloyds Banking Group, a HSBC e os gigantes da consultoria EY, PwC e Deloitte. Das empresas que t\u00eam objectivos, apenas quatro empresas recebem o \u201cpadr\u00e3o de ouro\u201d, ou seja, comunicam as emiss\u00f5es das viagens a\u00e9reas e comprometem-se a reduzi-las em 50% ou mais, at\u00e9 2025 ou antes. Trata-se da Novo Nordisk (Farmac\u00eautica, Dinamarca), Swiss Re (Finan\u00e7as, Su\u00ed\u00e7a), Fidelity International (Finan\u00e7as, Reino Unido) e <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ABN Amro (Finan\u00e7as, Pa\u00edses Baixos).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Na primeira panor\u00e2mica de sempre sobre a comunica\u00e7\u00e3o das emiss\u00f5es de gases que n\u00e3o o CO2 relacionadas com as viagens de neg\u00f3cios, a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o conclui que onze empresas brit\u00e2nicas est\u00e3o a liderar o caminho, comunicando todas as emiss\u00f5es de gases com efeito de estufa associadas aos voos de neg\u00f3cios. A AstraZeneca, a HSBC, a Deloitte e a NatWest est\u00e3o entre as que d\u00e3o o exemplo, considerando o impacto total dos voos nos seus relat\u00f3rios.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O impacto clim\u00e1tico dos voos de neg\u00f3cios vai para al\u00e9m das emiss\u00f5es de CO2. Para al\u00e9m do CO2, os motores dos avi\u00f5es emitem outros gases - \u00f3xidos nitrosos, di\u00f3xido de enxofre e \u00e1gua - e part\u00edculas (fuligem).  Estas emiss\u00f5es s\u00e3o normalmente designadas por emiss\u00f5es n\u00e3o-CO2, e \u00e9 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.easa.europa.eu\/en\/document-library\/research-reports\/report-commission-european-parliament-and-council\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">estimado <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">que eles representam dois ter\u00e7os do aquecimento clim\u00e1tico total causado pelos voos. No entanto, apenas muito poucas empresas reflectem o impacto total dos voos de neg\u00f3cios contabilizando os efeitos n\u00e3o relacionados com o CO2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Solomon Williams, Diretor de Campanhas do Campaign for Better Transport, afirmou: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEsta classifica\u00e7\u00e3o mostra que algumas empresas do Reino Unido est\u00e3o a liderar o caminho quando se trata de reduzir as emiss\u00f5es das viagens de neg\u00f3cios, mas muitas est\u00e3o a ficar para tr\u00e1s. Para combater as altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas e fazer face a uma cultura empresarial que muitas vezes nunca questiona as viagens de avi\u00e3o, \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio que mais empresas tomem medidas para reduzir o n\u00famero de voos de neg\u00f3cios desnecess\u00e1rios e os substituam por reuni\u00f5es virtuais ou viagens de comboio, sempre que poss\u00edvel.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Florence Long, respons\u00e1vel pela comunica\u00e7\u00e3o da AEF, acrescentou <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cApenas alguns dos l\u00edderes da classifica\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e3o a comunicar as emiss\u00f5es de gases que n\u00e3o o CO2 provenientes dos voos. Esta situa\u00e7\u00e3o tem de mudar. A comunica\u00e7\u00e3o das emiss\u00f5es de gases que n\u00e3o o CO2 deve passar a ser a norma, de modo a tornar claro todo o impacto da avia\u00e7\u00e3o no clima.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elspeth Wray, porta-voz do Transform Scotland, afirmou: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSe as empresas est\u00e3o realmente empenhadas em combater as altera\u00e7\u00f5es clim\u00e1ticas, t\u00eam de voar menos. Empresas l\u00edderes como a Lloyds Banking Group e a AstraZeneca mostraram que \u00e9 poss\u00edvel reduzir as emiss\u00f5es das viagens de neg\u00f3cios e, ao mesmo tempo, ter sucesso comercial. As empresas que n\u00e3o agirem ser\u00e3o cada vez mais contestadas por n\u00e3o acompanharem a sua ret\u00f3rica ambiental com ac\u00e7\u00f5es concertadas para reduzir as emiss\u00f5es.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A KPMG e a Shell s\u00e3o os principais emissores da classifica\u00e7\u00e3o Travel Smart no Reino Unido<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sem um objetivo de redu\u00e7\u00e3o das suas emiss\u00f5es de viagens. Nenhuma destas duas empresas estabeleceu objectivos para reduzir as emiss\u00f5es das viagens da empresa. Mas a an\u00e1lise mostra que a defini\u00e7\u00e3o desses objectivos \u00e9 poss\u00edvel e necess\u00e1ria, uma vez que empresas de dimens\u00e3o e sector semelhantes, como a Deloitte, o fizeram.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O estudo mostra que, se 10% das empresas - os maiores emissores na classifica\u00e7\u00e3o - estabelecessem objectivos de redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 50%, isso seria meio caminho andado para atingir o objetivo global de redu\u00e7\u00e3o de 50% nas emiss\u00f5es das viagens a\u00e9reas das empresas at\u00e9 2025. A redu\u00e7\u00e3o das emiss\u00f5es da avia\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 agora mais crucial do que nunca, se quisermos manter-nos dentro de 1,5\u00b0C de aquecimento global.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Durante a d\u00e9cada cr\u00edtica at\u00e9 2030, a melhor forma de reduzir as emiss\u00f5es da avia\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 voar menos, uma vez que o momento para a expans\u00e3o de combust\u00edveis sustent\u00e1veis e aeronaves com emiss\u00f5es zero \u00e9 atualmente p\u00f3s-2030 e a compensa\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o pode substituir a redu\u00e7\u00e3o de emiss\u00f5es.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A campanha Travel Smart apela \u00e0s empresas para que estabele\u00e7am objectivos ambiciosos de redu\u00e7\u00e3o das emiss\u00f5es das viagens de neg\u00f3cios, substituam o transporte a\u00e9reo pelo ferrovi\u00e1rio sempre que poss\u00edvel e utilizem a videoconfer\u00eancia como substituto dos voos de longo curso.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Nota aos editores:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O Transport &amp; Environment, juntamente com uma coliga\u00e7\u00e3o de parceiros globais, lan\u00e7ou a Campanha Travel Smart em 2022 com uma edi\u00e7\u00e3o anual de uma classifica\u00e7\u00e3o empresarial sobre pr\u00e1ticas sustent\u00e1veis de viagens de neg\u00f3cios. A Campanha Travel Smart envolve as empresas com o objetivo de reduzir as emiss\u00f5es das viagens de neg\u00f3cios em 50% ou mais dos n\u00edveis pr\u00e9-Covid at\u00e9 2025 ou antes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O ranking Travel Smart classifica 322 empresas americanas, europeias e indianas de acordo com 10 indicadores, relacionados com as emiss\u00f5es das viagens a\u00e9reas, objectivos de redu\u00e7\u00e3o e relat\u00f3rios. Os principais passageiros globais dos 17 pa\u00edses da classifica\u00e7\u00e3o representam uma parte consider\u00e1vel das viagens de neg\u00f3cios a n\u00edvel mundial. A an\u00e1lise revela os esfor\u00e7os significativos que certas empresas globais ainda t\u00eam de fazer para reduzir as suas emiss\u00f5es de viagens de neg\u00f3cios. As empresas recebem uma classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de A, B, C ou D.
